INGREDIENTS

  • 2 eggs
  • 5 dkg granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • Pinch of salt
  • Zest of half a lemon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 13 dkg semolina
  • 50 dkg cottage cheese

FOR SERVING

  • Toasted breadcrumbs to taste
  • Sour cream
  • Powdered sugar
 

PREPARATION

    Whisk the eggs with the sugar until frothy.

    Add the melted butter, salt, grated lemon zest, and vanilla extract to the cottage cheese, mash it with a fork, pour in the frothy eggs whisked with sugar, sprinkle in the semolina, gently mix, then refrigerate for at least one hour.

    After chilling, form dumplings of desired size and cook them in boiling water. This takes only a few minutes; when the dumplings float to the surface, cook for another 2-3 minutes, and they are ready.

    Drain them, then roll them in toasted breadcrumbs and serve with sour cream mixed with powdered sugar to taste.
