INGREDIENTS
- 2 eggs
- 5 dkg granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- Pinch of salt
- Zest of half a lemon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 13 dkg semolina
- 50 dkg cottage cheese
FOR SERVING
- Toasted breadcrumbs to taste
- Sour cream
- Powdered sugar
PREPARATION
- 1Whisk the eggs with the sugar until frothy.
- 2Add the melted butter, salt, grated lemon zest, and vanilla extract to the cottage cheese, mash it with a fork, pour in the frothy eggs whisked with sugar, sprinkle in the semolina, gently mix, then refrigerate for at least one hour.
- 3After chilling, form dumplings of desired size and cook them in boiling water. This takes only a few minutes; when the dumplings float to the surface, cook for another 2-3 minutes, and they are ready.
- 4Drain them, then roll them in toasted breadcrumbs and serve with sour cream mixed with powdered sugar to taste.
