Tiltott Csíki Sör is a high, 6% alcohol content, Bock type lager beer, which refreshes, nourishes and cheers up.

Its characteristic taste comes from the fact that it is made from the pure water of the springs at the foot of the Hargita Mountains and only quality ingredients, which are produced by an expert team committed to the traditions of Csíki brewing in Csíkszentsimon.   
In the technology of beer making, they strive to follow the traditions, so during the brewing they follow the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516, which means that Tiltott Csíki Sör contains only barley malt, hops, yeast and water. When selecting the original beer ingredients, the primary consideration is quality, so they check in a small-scale laboratory that the barley malt has the ideal starch and protein content. In addition - during cooking - the best quality Segesvár hops are added, which gives the characteristic bitter taste.

Producer information
The first written mention of Csíki brewing dates back to 1548, in the work of Jesuit monk Antonio Possevino della Compagnia di Gesù entitled Transilvania, published in 1584: "All of these (the priests living in Csík - editor's note) indulge in drunkenness, where the regular drink is limited to beer, they are so ignorant that they cannot even write their names correctly.".

The old traditions were revived in 2014, when in Csíkszentsimon the Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania and a local master brewer began to brew the Igazi Csíki Sör based on old recipes. By following the Bavarian purity recipe, Csíki Sör, which is free of modern chemical ingredients, is a worthy successor to the traditions.
