About the brand

Frigyes Stühmer, a master confectioner from Hamburg, came to Hungary at the invitation of a confectioner from Pest. In 1868, Stühmer bought the small confectionery shop, and his business soon grew into the country's largest chocolate factory, where quality chocolate was produced using steam power. Frigyes Stühmer recognized that chocolate and candy were important consumer products with a great future. He played a major role in making chocolate, which was considered a luxury item, more widely known. The traditional brand was revived by Péter Csóll in 2006, when he bought the Stühmer confectionery shop in Eger and the trademark rights. Compared to the initial 3-4 product families, we now produce more than 150 different products, and our company has become one of the defining brands of quality chocolate production. Some of the products are nostalgia products made according to original, old recipes, but most of them are the creations of our creative product development team.
