Hold and Hollo Dry

The characteristic, bright green silicone wine label of the HOLD AND HOLLO Dry bottles suggests a youthful momentum and indicates once again: this is not an everyday wine in our glass. Despite its lightness, this dry selection wine holds many surprises: we can recognize both the richness of the Mád terroir and the characterful beauty of the grape varieties used in the blend, the Furmint, the Zéta, the Hárslevelű and the Sárgamuskotály.
Its scent initially opens a snow-white petal, then dynamic citrus aromas, green apple and gooseberry boldly push the boundaries. As we get closer to the taste, the sip is fresh and juicy, crispy, the apple essential oil still dominates. A truly special flavor note appears next to it: the distinctive, aromatic essence of passion fruit, as if we were spooning it, intertwines with the sour lime, then the creaminess of the green banana deepens it all. Impressive balance, bold and intense experience - just as we would imagine a cool HOLD AND HOLLO wine.

Producer information

HOLDVÖLGY grew out of a small, birthday gift parcel. The 28-hectare Mád estate now has 30 parcels located in 7 different, historically classified vineyards.
All 6 Tokaj-approved grape varieties are cared for with maximum care and attention on the Estate. The key to their exceptionality is the patient understanding of each parcel, the careful viticulture that seeks natural balances and the modern-spirited winemaking based on traditions.

The estate center was also born in the spirit of exceptionality: the extremely modern winery building blends into the traditional image of the wine region and reveals the centuries-old, nearly 2 km long cellar system below it, where their excellent quality sweet and dry white wines mature. The HOLDVÖLGY Cellar Visit experience was awarded the "Best Cellar Visit" award by the VinCE Awards twice in a row (2016, 2017); while thanks to the positive reviews of Tripadvisor adventurers, they were also able to win the "Traveler's Choice 2020" award.

Their wines boast gold medals from numerous domestic and international wine competitions, and are also featured on the exclusive wine list of many Michelin-starred restaurants worldwide.
In 2018, they won the Par Excellence professional award of the Hungarian Sommelier Association as the winner of the "Producer Category", and also in the same year, the HOLDVÖLGY estate center building complex was awarded an international architectural award by the jury of the Milan A'Design Award.
