Smoked mussels in vegetable oil. We recommend them primarily for Mediterranean, seafood-type salads or pasta, but they are also very tasty, healthy and nutritious in risotto. Ready-to-eat product, does not require further kitchen preparation, thus saving you time and energy, yet delicious dishes will be on the table.

In addition to its unique, exciting flavours, mussels are considered an extremely healthy food. They are rich in unsaturated fatty acids, high in protein, and an important source of vitamin B12 and several minerals. The sterols they contain can prevent the absorption of cholesterol.

About the brand

Danish fishermen have been engaged in mussel fishing for centuries. In 1851, the Kingdom of Denmark put this practice into an official framework and thus laid the foundation for the commercial mussel fishing in the Limfjord, which is still very popular today.

Vilsund Muslinge Industri A/S, founded in 1986, merged with the Limfjord company in 2010 and has since operated under the name Vilsund Blue A/S, headquartered in Nykøbing Mors, Denmark. The company with 70 employees operates at 3 industrial sites.

For the company, value is represented by continuous product development and quality. In 2010, Vilsund Blue A/S was the first mussel producer to be MSC (sustainable fishing) certified. In 2014, 2015 and 2016, the company reached the finals of the Seafood Excellence Global Awards, and in 2014 it also won first prize in the Mussel Powder and Flavour Enhancer categories. In 2015, Vilsund Blue A/S also won the prestigious Børsens Smagspris 2015 award with its Vilsund Premium Limfjord Blue Mussels.

Storage

The product does not require refrigeration, but after opening, store in the refrigerator and consume within three days!
