Despite its high alcohol content, Bernard Bohemian Ale is an exceptionally fresh, fruity-flavored beer. Its mild yeasty and grainy notes are complemented by a hint of spicy coriander, which gives the beer a warm aftertaste. Its finish is fresh and slightly bitter.

Producer Information

The Bernard brewery, located in Humpolec, Czech Republic, was founded in 1991 by three private individuals. The dilapidated brewery, originally dating back to the 16th century, was purchased at an auction and, after its renovation, quickly became a well-known premium brand in the Czech Republic.

The brewery's master brewers still adhere to their traditions, which is why the unpasteurized, full-bodied beers they produce can almost be considered craft beers. Following fermentation in their own cellars, the maturation takes place traditionally for several weeks at a temperature of around 1-2°C. The filtration process is carried out at 2°C with special microbiological filters, so the beer retains its original aroma and taste in addition to its healthy nutrients.
