Maci Light instant coffee substitute

Maci Light is an instant coffee substitute, specifically designed for those who want to quickly and conveniently enjoy the taste of coffee without the need for lengthy brewing processes.

Suggested use

When preparing a milky coffee, add one heaped teaspoon of extract to a cup of milk; when preparing black coffee, add two teaspoons of extract to a cup of hot water.

Producer information

The Franck Henrik és Fiai company was founded in 1822. Its coffee products were well-received in the countries of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, including Hungary. In 1911, after Kassa, Budapest, and Nagykanizsa, it also opened its chicory processing and coffee substitute production plant in Mosonszentjános.

During the reorganization of the Hungarian Confectionery Company in 1971, the factory unit was attached to the Győri Keksz és Ostyagyár. Its product list significantly expanded: in addition to 12 types of coffee substitutes, they produced 44 other types of confectionery products, e.g., tea flavorings, cream powders, candies, roasted peanuts. During the privatization following the regime change, in 1991, it came under the ownership of United Biscuits along with Győri Keksz és Ostyagyár. After several years of deliberation, the English owner decided to sell the factory unit, which did not fit its profile. Thus, in 1994, the prestigious company came under Hungarian-Swiss ownership and operates under the name MULTI-CIKÓRIA Kft.
