Why are freeze-dried currants good for you?

Freeze-dried currants - or red currants - have a pleasant, tart flavour and are extremely high in vitamin C. To preserve this, they are perfect for fresh consumption, quick freezing, freeze-drying, but also for making jams, preserves, fruit soups and sauces. In addition to vitamin C, freeze-dried red currants are also a good source of potassium and their vegetable fats have a beneficial effect on the skin. Due to the freeze-drying process, the product is very sensitive to moisture and humidity, so its packaging and airtight resealing require special attention. The fruit is excellent in muesli, for decorating cakes and for making sauces.
