Leffe Blond bottle
Dry, slightly spicy, fruity, distinctive and creamy beer, which combines body with elegance in a very unique way. It is made according to the original recipe of the monks of the Leffe Abbey using selected, special malt, which gives it its excellent quality, tasty, full flavour.
About the brand
The Leffe Abbey was founded in 1152 in southern Belgium. Like many monasteries in Europe, from 1240 onwards the Premonstratensian canons of the abbey brewed ale. Using knowledge passed down from generation to generation and ingredients found in the wild near the abbey, the canons developed a unique, refined and highly alcoholic beer that was brewed only in the abbey.
Over the years, the abbey was damaged by both natural and human circumstances: in 1460 it was destroyed by a flood, in 1466 a fire swept through the town, in 1735 the brewery was damaged by troops, and the French Revolution that broke out in 1794 resulted in the brewery being abandoned and destroyed. The canons returned in 1902. In 1952, after a collaboration with the Flemish brewery Lootvoet from Overijse, they resumed brewing the beer. This brewery was later acquired by the international brewing company Interbrew (now AB InBev). Leffe was then brewed in Mont-Saint-Guibert until Interbrew closed this brewery. Currently, all Leffe brands are brewed in the Stella Artois brewery in Leuven.
