Panifico il Basilico artisan braided challah straight from the oven of the renowned Szabi, a Pék. At Panificio il Basilico bakery, they believe in the farm-to-table concept: they are selective about the ingredients they use, and they source their ingredients from the best Hungarian and Italian, mostly artisan family-owned businesses.

Producer information

A bit Italian, always high-quality, always a bit different, always a bit more creative: the "home" of Italy in Hungary. They want to bring the real Italian "food feeling", the zest for life, the Dolce Vita, the "sweet life" to life. Panificio il Basilico is for everyone who loves to eat delicious food.

Sourdough is the foundation of our artisan bakery. Their basic principle is that good bread needs nothing more than flour, water, salt and love. They do not use any additives or artificial ingredients. They work with aged sourdoughs and are particularly proud of their Italian sourdough, which was started 102 years ago and has been nurtured ever since, and which comes from near Naples, but they also love to bake bread with their Austrian rye sourdough, which was started 53 years ago and comes from Innsbruck.
