The invigorating black drink, coffee, has been consumed and cultivated in its original homeland, Ethiopia, for about a thousand years, but the custom of drinking coffee only arrived in Europe in the 17th century. Although the coffee genus consists of many species, only two of them are really suitable as raw materials for the well-known luxury food, one of which is the Coffea arabica, or Arabian coffee plant.
Over time, however, this valuable crop plant began to be cultivated in other parts of the world, so today Brazil is one of the largest coffee-producing countries, accounting for about 40% of the world's production.

The purchased plant must always be replanted in order to survive in the apartment in the long term. We recommend transplanting them into a larger pot or box so that they feel comfortable in the heated apartment and do not wither. It is important not to forget to spray (with water)!
Interesting fact
Interestingly, while Brazil is more of a mass producer, the highest quality espresso coffee is made from coffee beans grown in Jamaica, Ethiopia, Costa Rica and Colombia. This evergreen, frost-sensitive shrub grows wild on the higher plateaus of the African country, where it eventually grows into a 6-8 m tall tree.
Use
It requires a bright but filtered light, well-drained, nutrient-rich, slightly moist but not wet soil. If possible, never let the soil dry out completely between waterings, but keep in mind that it requires less water during the winter months.
In summer, it can also be placed on a shaded, protected balcony away from the scorching sun. From autumn to spring, keep it in a room with a relatively constant temperature and not too warm air, preferably in front of a bright, well-lit window. However, do not expose it to temperatures below 13°C during the winter, as it may shed its leaves. Protect it from draughts and sudden changes in temperature.
Storage
Store at 15-20 °C in a non-dry place.
