Grand Tokaj Furmint dry white wine

Its aroma reflects the fruitiness of ripe white-fleshed peach, the freshness of grape blossom, a hint of smokiness from barrel aging, and a pure Furmint character. Its taste is complemented by a characteristic minerality with salty notes and the fresh fruitiness of peach. A long-lasting wine, which is kept fresh by the round acids.

Producer information

Grand Tokaj is one of the most significant domestic wineries owned by the Tokaj-Hegyalja University Foundation, which - as the largest winery in the historic Tokaj-Hegyalja wine region, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site - is the guardian and developer of the national winemaking tradition.

Their main activities at their Tolcsva bit center and their own vineyards are primarily grape production and purchasing, as well as winemaking and sales. The winery, which has 67 hectares of vineyards, is also a prominent player in their wine region: about 35% of the region's total wine production comes from the wines made here.

As an integrator of the region, they currently purchase strictly controlled quality grapes from about 670 hectares of productive land in cooperation with winegrowers who have been working with them for years.

Their winery's wines, which represent a renewed spirit, are made under the direction of Károly Áts, a winemaker who won the Winemaker of the Year award in 2012 and the Winemaker of Winemakers award in 2020, and who has been the company's chief winemaker since 2013.
