KOMETA 99 Zrt. is one of the largest pig processing companies in Hungary. The products made in the Kaposvár plant can be found not only in Hungary, but also in more than 40 countries around the world. We employ more than 800 people, making us one of the largest employers in Kaposvár and Somogy county. Our story began in a small Alpine village and continued on the slopes of the Somogy Hills. Our CEO, Giacomo Pedranzini's parents were Alpine shepherds in Italy, and the love of the land and animal husbandry, the production of good quality food has been present in his life since early childhood. In 1994, continuing the family tradition, he came to Hungary and started working at the former Kaposvár meat processing plant. In 1999, the meat processing plant changed ownership, and our company was given the name KOMETA '99 Kft. Since then, many competitors have closed their doors, but Kometa has grown and has become one of the largest pig processing and meat industry companies in the country.
