Sour cream is made from properly prepared and heat-treated, fatty cream (min. 30% fat content) by adding a special microbial culture and acidification. Its consistency is uniform, smooth, thick and free of lumps. Its taste is pleasantly sour, and its flavour is characteristic of the product.
