Despite continuous developments, by the second half of the 19th century, three competing breweries operated in Bitburg. It was time for innovation again.

Their brewery wanted to introduce something entirely new, thus the brewing of pilsner-style beer began in 1883. In 1909, the excellent water from a spring found in Bitburg was used for the first time as an ingredient for brewing. Thanks to this, the beer's flavour became even more excellent, even more unique.

About the brand

Founded in 1817 in the southern region of the Eifel mountains, this family brewery has been operating for seven generations. Following this long, 200-year history of tradition, the brewery remains one of the most modern and important privately owned breweries today. The most famous phrase in the German beer world, "Bitte ein Bit" ("One Bit, please"), is recognizable worldwide among fans of Bitburger Premium Pils. In addition to their perfect pilsner, their customers also enjoy their other beer varieties and special beverages. Despite their product range and brewing processes continuing to evolve, their fundamental values have always remained unchanged: care, love, and passion for beer. These values support their consistently high-quality standards.
