Kaiken Ultra Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 Argentina

Hand-picked from 80-year-old vines, 800 meters above sea level. Fermented in tanks, then aged for 12 months in new and used French barrels. Deep ruby color, typical Cabernet Sauvignon scent: black berries, a little paprika, tobacco, vanilla. More restrained oak notes in the taste, medium body, refreshing acids, and more red berries.

The Caiquén is a wild goose native to Patagonia, which flies across the Andes between Argentina and Chile. Embarking on a journey that crosses borders, the Caiquén faces great challenges.

Just like the Caiquén, Aurelio Montes, the founder of the Chilean winery Bodega Montes, made several trips across the Andes, until in 2000 he rediscovered Mendoza as a land with great vines and hardworking people. In 2001, he realized that Mendoza was the perfect place to make Kaikén wines, which embody everything a great wine should be.
