In addition to being one of the most innovative distilleries in the world, Bruichladdich also favours traditional methods in many areas. The secret of the Laddie distillate is that in their case we can encounter a method of whisky making that is very rare nowadays:

• Traditional style (developed 130 years ago) wooden fermentation vats
• Slow, natural fermentation in open vats
• Tall, narrow-necked still (one of the oldest in Scotland)
• Drop by drop distillation process

At Bruichladdich, the emphasis on terroir and traditional processes therefore goes hand in hand with numerous innovations and bold ideas. However, with this bottling, master distiller Jim McEwan's aim was to showcase the classic Laddie flavour profile. A blend of different vintages, bourbon cask matured, peat-free Bruichladdich malts.
