Ripe, freshly picked fruits, flown in directly from Colombia!

Also known as the Cape gooseberry, it is a popular plant in the Mediterranean region for its tasty fruit.

Its fruit is a small, crunchy delicacy. It looks like a small berry, similar to a cherry. It can vary in size, and its colour depends on the ripeness - initially the fruit is green, by the time of harvest it will be a bright orange colour, at which point it is ready to eat.

Uses

Since this fruit does not have the usual outer "coat", i.e. the skin, it does not need to be peeled, the fruit is ready to eat.
It can be eaten raw, in fruit salads, puddings, and jams! Some people use it as a compote or as a dried fruit. 

Storage

Store in a dry, cool place, between 10-12 °C.
