About the brand

The term "monkey shoulder" is a reminder of our old whisky-making heritage. It refers to the maltmen who, during long working hours, manually turned the malt, which gave them terrible muscle aches in their shoulders, so they hung their arms down in a characteristic way, like a monkey - this was nicknamed "monkey shoulder" at the time.

The Monkey Shoulder name is a loving tribute to the hard lives of the old and present-day workers. One day, the legendary malt master, David Stewart, decided to create the world's first triple malt, combining single malt whiskies from the three finest Speyside distilleries. Monkey Shoulder, a soft and rich-tasting, 100% Scottish malt whisky, distilled and matured in Dufftown, Scotland, is intended for great bars and wonderful homes.
