Gluten- and lactose-free. Cassava belongs to the spurge family, it is native to the tropical regions of America, a tasteless and odorless plant, but extremely rich in protein and starch.
Interesting fact
It is cultivated worldwide in tropical regions, primarily for its root, from which flour, bread, starch and alcoholic beverages are made. Cassava was probably first cultivated by the Mayans. Not only the root of the cassava is edible, but also its leaves are used as a spinach substitute, containing much more protein, vitamins and minerals than the root of the plant.
