The Teeling small batch is spicy, with rich flavours of rose petal jelly and lemon curd. Creamy vanilla, hints of dried herbs and cinnamon. The finish is floral, with a herbal aftertaste. Caramel also emerges.
Producer information
This whiskey is released by an independent Irish company, Teeling WhiskeyCompany, who incidentally started building their own distillery in 2014. This made it the first newly opened distillery in Dublin in 125 years, thus reviving the great tradition of Dublin whiskey making.
The Teeling Small Batch - as its name suggests - is a blended whiskey released in small batches, with an exceptionally high malt whiskey content. It is matured primarily in first-fill bourbon casks, and interestingly, it is finished in rum casks, which gives the drink extra spiciness.
