Producer Information

The PURINA brand first appeared in 1989 in St. Louis, USA, selling pet food and feed. In 1921, the PURINA Chow brand of dry pet food was introduced to the American market. The successful products PURINA Dog Chow and PURINA® Cat Chow were then created. In 1985, Nestlé acquired the successful FRISKIES brand. In 1998, the DARLING brand became the property of Nestlé, and a HUF 6 billion investment was made in a pet food factory in Bük, which has been producing dry and wet pet food ever since - the first in Hungary. The Bük factory is currently Nestlé PURINA's largest pet food factory in Europe.
