A light, unfiltered wheat beer with a high wheat malt content, lavender and orange peel. Zirci Abbey Lavender Witbier is a celebration of the meeting of tradition and innovation. Using a new, special wheat yeast and replacing the coriander, a traditional ingredient of witbiers, with lavender, a unique and harmonious, new yet mature flavour was born. Lavender Witbier is the intersection of late summer and early autumn.

What is wheat beer?
Originally brewed in German monasteries, it has a long history. It is a top-fermented beer type, which is made with spontaneous lactic acid fermentation. It comes in various shades of yellow. Its taste is tart, dry beer, easy to make.

Producer information
From the mid-18th century, not only a sparkling religious life took place within the walls of the Zirc monastery: on 29 October 1735, the venerable convent was able to partake in the first Zirc beer experience. After tasting it, the convent unanimously declared that the beer was good.

The tradition of brewing was revived with modern tools in 2015 in the heart of Bakony: the duality of tradition and innovation makes Zirc Abbey unique on the market. Real abbey beer is born in an authentic environment, combining manual labour and the most modern digital technology.
