For making high-fruit content jams and preserves. Quick and sugar-saving.
In Dr. Oetker gelling agents, natural fruit pectin allows the lengthy cooking process to be shortened to 1-3 minutes. This prevents the fruit fibres from overcooking, thus preserving valuable vitamins and the fruit's original flavour.
Description
Sugar-saving gelling agent for home preserving.
Product Information
Dosage: 1000-1250 g fruit (prepared), 350 g sugar, 1 sachet of Dzsemfix 3:1.
Preparation
- For making preserves, chop the cleaned, measured fruit as needed, then mash it all.
- For making jam, finely chop half of the cleaned, measured fruit, and mash the other half.
- Pour the prepared fruit into a cooking pot. Mix the Dzsemfix with the measured sugar and add it to the fruit, then bring to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly.
- After boiling, let the preserve or jam boil for another 3 minutes, stirring continuously, then remove from heat. If necessary, remove any foam from the top.
- Immediately fill the prepared jars to the brim, seal them tightly, and turn them upside down for about 5 minutes.
Tip
- When preserving peaches, use two sachets of Dzsemfix in addition to the specified amount of fruit and sugar.
- You can also use frozen fruit instead of fresh. After thawing and draining, measure out the required amount.
- Store the finished preserve in a dry, cool place, and the opened jar in the refrigerator.
