Cleaning asparagus

  1. Soil can easily get stuck in the tip of the asparagus, so it is important to clean it thoroughly, paying special attention to this area. It is worth soaking it for a while, then washing it thoroughly under running water over a strainer. 
  2. After washing, the bottom of the asparagus stem must be removed.
    Removing the bottom of the stem is simple: bend the stem until the woody part breaks off by itself.
    You can throw away the broken bottom, you will work with the stem and the feathery end, that is what you will need.
