Pita or pitta (British English) is a family of yeast-leavened flatbreads baked from wheat flour that is common in the Mediterranean and Middle East. It includes the widely known version with an internal pocket (also known as Arabic or Syrian bread), as well as pocketless versions such as the Greek pita used to wrap souvlaki. The name pita in the West is sometimes applied to various other types of flatbreads.

Storage:
