Most often consumed as porridge and almost everyone has their own favourite, fastest, simplest, least messy method and flavouring. One serving corresponds to approx. 25-30g of rolled oats, which is cooked in one and a half to two times the amount of water or plant milk for 5-10 minutes with continuous stirring. The other simplest method is to soak it in the same amount of liquid overnight and warm it up in the morning. There is no limit to the flavouring, it can be prepared sweet, salty, with dried or fresh fruit, coconut chips, carob powder, but it can also be consumed plain.

Rolled oats are also often used to make cakes, biscuits, but when soaked they can also be mixed into meatballs, fillings and are also suitable for breading.
