Producer information

The idea of the original Soviet dessert (in the Soviet Union, an ancestor filled with a mixture of cottage cheese, butter and sugar, flavored with vanilla and covered with chocolate, already existed under the name "glazirovannij szirok") came to Hungary during a study trip between the COMECON countries in 1968. The Budapest Dairy Company started to produce it first in the Szabolcstej dairy plant in Mátészalka, then production also started in the Zalkatej dairy plant in Nagybánhegyes. Following the regime change, the manufacturing companies were privatized, as a result of which the production of Túró Rudi became the property of Friesland-Campina.

Even today, the Pöttyös brand enjoys incredible success, as every age group can find their favorite flavor. Pöttyös products mean more to us Hungarians than just a delicacy. They are always with us and always bring a smile to our face, cheer us up!
