About the brand

Fanta is a fruit-flavoured soft drink, produced by The Coca-Cola Company since 1940. The drink originally started in Germany during World War II. Max Keith, the head of the German Coca-Cola company, decided to create a new product from fruits. The name comes from a brainstorming session when the company's employees couldn't decide what to name the drink. Keith told his team to "use their imagination", whereupon Joe Knipp, one of the salespeople, exclaimed: "Fanta!" Production of the product was once stopped, but they started selling it again in 1955.

The Hungarian introduction of Fanta is unknown; it probably reached us in the 1990s. The drink is also famous for its advertisements, which are usually orange-coloured and depict lemons or oranges (rather the latter). It is a very successful product worldwide. It is available in over 90 different flavours worldwide.
