One of the most widespread varieties in the Balaton area. It spread to the Káli Basin before the phylloxera epidemic, in 1873.

After whole-bunch pressing, the wine fermented spontaneously in a tank, then it was aged in a tank until March.

Producer information

Their viticulture and winery are based on centuries-old family generations, where viticulture and winemaking are passed down from father to son.

Their vineyards are located in the Káli Basin, on the southern slopes of the volcanic Fekete-hegy in Köveskál, in the Kishegy, Cserekút, Kisgyepű and Csákvölgy vineyards. On the current 16 ha area, they produce Olaszrizling, Szürkebarát, Tramini, Furmint, Juhfark, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Syrah grapes. With strict shoot selection and later bunch selection, they set the ideal yield so that they can harvest the best quality grapes at full maturity. They do not use harsh agents in the plant protection of grapes, they do not use mite and insect repellents, and herbicides for weeding. They strive to achieve the biological balance of the vine. The characteristic taste of their wines is favorably influenced by the volcanic soil (basalt, lava and tuff rocks), the high acid and mineral content.

Their goal is for the wines of the Káli Basin, once delivered to the kings of the Árpád dynasty, to return to the tables of quality wine consumers, to become known and loved.
