About the brand
The Bio Alpenmilch brand includes the organic products of Milchwerke Berchtesgadener Land Chiemgau eG. The dairy is located in Piding, Germany, and the dairy farms are situated on the Alpine ridge between the Watzmann and the Zugspitze.
Since its foundation, the members of the cooperative have felt responsible for animals, nature and consumers. Their core values include the careful processing of milk, the protection of the Alps and the natural habitats in the Alps. The farmers run their farms naturally and sustainably, feeding their cows only with traditional methods, excluding the use of genetically modified materials.
The natural feed provides valuable nutrients and good taste. The milk from cows grazing on mountain pastures and meadows contains a higher proportion of healthy omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins and minerals. Their farms have an average of 27 cows, thus ensuring intensive and individual care. They believe that their most important employee is the cow itself and that animal welfare is the key to the best dairy products.
The plant is also a leader in the use of environmentally friendly packaging. A significant proportion of the packaging materials are made from renewable raw materials. Berchtesgadener Land has been offering fresh milk in returnable glass bottles since 1990. The bio-based plastic packaging has the highest level of certification from TÜV Austria. This responsible production protects finite resources and reduces the environmental burden.
The brand guarantees that the customer will find exactly what the pictures on the outside promise inside the packaging.
