Effective for the treatment of throat, pharynx, tonsil inflammation, gingivitis, oral mucosa inflammation, and for the reduction of unpleasant mouth odour and prevention of secondary infections after oral surgeries (tonsil, tooth, etc.).

Usage:
Adults: 1 lozenge 5 times a day, in 2-3 hour intervals.

1. What is Strepsils lemon flavoured sugar-free tablet and what is it used for?
Lemon flavoured, lozenge for sucking, throat disinfectant medicinal product.
Effective for the treatment of throat, pharynx, tonsil inflammation, gingivitis, oral mucosa inflammation, and for the reduction of unpleasant mouth odour and prevention of secondary infections after oral surgeries (tonsil, tooth, etc.).
Quickly relieves local symptoms, the excruciating throat pain.
Symptoms of inflammation usually disappear within a few (4-6) days.
Amylmetacresol and dichlorobenzyl alcohol content has disinfectant effect.
The tablet does not contain sugar, therefore it can be used by diabetics.
2. What you need to know before taking Strepsils lemon flavoured sugar-free tablet
Do not take Strepsils lemon flavoured sugar-free tablet:
If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to the active ingredients or any other ingredient of the medicine (listed in section 6).
The use of the product is not recommended for children under 4 years of age due to increased risk of choking.
Warnings and precautions
The specified dose must not be exceeded.
If symptoms do not improve within a few days, maximum 1 week, or if fever, headache, nausea, vomiting also occur, other treatment is necessary and a doctor must be consulted.
Other medicines and Strepsils lemon flavoured sugar-free tablet
Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all medicines you are taking, have recently taken or might take.
No clinically significant drug interactions are known.
Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking any medicine.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you think you might be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
No human drug safety data are available, therefore the use of the product is not recommended without medical supervision.
Effects of the product on the ability to drive and use machines
Strepsils lemon flavoured sugar-free tablet has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.
Strepsils lemon flavoured sugar-free tablet contains maltitol syrup
The product contains maltitol syrup. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicine.
3. How to take Strepsils lemon flavoured sugar-free tablet
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure about the dose.
The recommended dose of the product:
To treat symptoms, the lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest possible time.
Symptoms of inflammation usually disappear within a few (4-6) days.
Adults: 1 lozenge 5 times a day, in 2-3 hour intervals.
Children:
- children over 5 years of age: 3-4 lozenges a day
- children between 4-5 years of age: 3 lozenges a day
- not recommended for children under 4 years of age due to increased risk of choking.
Elderly:
In the elderly, it is not necessary to reduce the recommended dose.
Method of administration
For oromucosal use.
The tablet should be sucked slowly, right after meals.
Eating, drinking and brushing teeth should be avoided for 1-2 hours after.
If you take more Strepsils lemon flavoured sugar-free tablet than you should
Due to the nature and packaging of Strepsils lemon flavoured sugar-free tablet, accidental or intentional overdose is very unlikely.
Possible overdose may cause gastrointestinal discomfort.
If you take more Strepsils lemon flavoured sugar-free tablet than you should, talk to your doctor immediately.
If you forget to take Strepsils lemon flavoured sugar-free tablet
If you forget to take the tablet, take it as soon as you remember, unless it is close to the time for your next dose.
Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten tablet, because this will not make up for the missed dose, but will expose you to the risk of overdose.
If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
4. Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Hypersensitivity reaction may develop against any medicine.
Therefore, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that if you experience unusual symptoms (e.g. swelling of any part of the body, skin rash, sudden drop in blood pressure, etc.), you must stop taking the medicine and consult your doctor immediately.
Side effects that may occur when using Strepsils lemon flavoured sugar-free tablet are as follows, according to the frequency:
Very rare (may affect up to 1 in 10,000 people):
· allergic reaction (skin irritation, redness, swelling)
· rash, contact dermatitis, swelling of subcutaneous tissues
· digestive disorder (heartburn on the first day of treatment)
Not known:
· abdominal pain, nausea, irritation of the oral mucosa, burning, stinging sensation of the tongue on the first two days of treatment

5. How to store Strepsils lemon flavoured sugar-free tablet
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Do not store above 25°C.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date (EXP) which is stated on the package. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Do not throw any medicines via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicines you no longer use. These measures will help to protect the environment.
6. Contents of the package and other information
What Strepsils lemon flavoured sugar-free tablet contains
The active ingredients of the product: One lozenge contains 0.6 mg amylmetacresol and 1.2 mg 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol.
Other ingredients: sodium saccharin, lemon flavour, tartaric acid, maltitol syrup, isomalt.
What Strepsils lemon flavoured sugar-free tablet looks like and contents of the package
Appearance: Round, flat, white or pale yellow, lozenge with characteristic lemon flavour, with Strepsils logo on both sides.
Packaging: 24 lozenges in colourless, transparent PVC/PVDC//Al blister package and box.
