Walnuts have a high content of unsaturated fatty acids, so by consuming them you reduce the body's cholesterol level. Normalizing cholesterol levels helps prevent the development of some serious circulatory diseases later on.
By consuming just 25g of walnuts a day, you can ensure your daily omega-3 fatty acid intake. According to research, omega-3 fatty acids reduce the risk of coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, colon and prostate cancer.

Use

Walnuts are most often used in making sweets, baking pastries, mixed into dough, creams, or as a filling, but they can also make vegetable and fruit salads special. Feel free to add a little coarsely crushed walnuts to steamed vegetables, so you can serve completely new, exciting side dishes. Walnuts harmonize beautifully with most cheeses, especially moldy varieties. You can make walnut butter cream, enrich the usual breading with walnuts, but you can even press milk out of it.

The Organic Kingdom organic farm is located in Kölcse, in the heart of the Szatmár region, in an untouched, less discovered natural environment. The Szatmár region is often referred to as the "orchard" of Hungary, famous for its apples, plums, walnuts and sour cherries. The nature reserves in the area are ideal for organic farming.

The beginnings of the enterprise date back to 1997, when they started to produce vegetables as a family farm. The one-hectare area soon expanded, and today they produce vegetables and fruits on 50 hectares. In 2003, they built a 600-ton capacity cold store and packaging plant.

In 2004, they switched to organic farming, and since then they have not used fertilizers, synthetic pesticides or herbicides. Their environmental awareness and the protection of their natural environment are of paramount importance to them.

Since 2005, they have been exporting to the countries of the European Union and Israel, and they are also present on the domestic market. Organic Kingdom Kft. was founded in 2008 for the distribution, processing and export of organic vegetables and fruits. From the very beginning, they have offered long-term cooperation to local organic producers.

Storage

It is best to store the cleaned walnuts in a cool, dry place, in a pantry, in a canvas or paper bag. The refrigerator is not good for it, because the oil in the walnuts can solidify, making its taste bitter. Store between 6-8°C.
