Holdvölgy Eloquence

ELOQUENCE, which means “eloquence”, is a clean, elegant Szamorodni, in the HOLDVÖLGY style. Following the three-time gold medal-winning Eloquence 2010 Szamorodni, for the fourth year now, they have been showcasing the beauty of the first-class, selected vineyards of the Mád Basin, through the Furmint and Hárslevelű varieties.
The rounded bouquet of the 2012 Szamorodni combines lime blossom and coconut with silky, dried apricots. Its flavour unfolds into an exotic composition with mango and apricot jam, brought to life by sweet oriental spices. A rich, well-balanced Tokaji sweet wine.

HOLDVÖLGY grew out of a small plot of land that was a birthday present. Today, the 28-hectare Mád estate has 30 plots in 7 different, historically classified vineyards.
On the estate, all 6 permitted Tokaj grape varieties are cultivated with the utmost care and attention. The key to their exceptional quality is the patient understanding of each plot, the careful viticulture that seeks a natural balance, and the modern winemaking based on tradition.

The estate centre was also created in the spirit of excellence: the ultra-modern winery building blends into the traditional landscape of the wine region and reveals the centuries-old, nearly 2 km long cellar system beneath it, where their excellent quality sweet and dry white wines are aged. The HOLDVÖLGY Cellar Visit experience was awarded the “Best Cellar Visit” award by the VinCE Awards twice in a row (2016, 2017); while thanks to the positive reviews of Tripadvisor adventurers, they were also awarded the “Traveller’s Choice 2020” distinction.

Their wines have won numerous gold medals at domestic and international wine competitions, and they also feature on the exclusive wine lists of several Michelin-starred restaurants worldwide.
In 2018, they won the “Producer Category” award of the Hungarian Sommelier Association’s Par Excellence professional award, and also in the same year, the HOLDVÖLGY estate centre building complex was awarded an international architecture award by the jury of the Milan A’Design Award.
