Live-flora, low-fat yogurt with a high-fruit jam layer, Fat content: 2.8% (m/m). Preservative- and additive-free Hungarian producer product from a social economy.
The manufacturer fills soft curd into small soft cheese molds, drains the whey from it, then dries it for 1-2 days so that the surface of the cheese dries out. Then, one by one, it is rolled in a preservative-free spice mixture, immediately wrapped in shrink wrap, and then stored in a cold room for 1-2 days so that the spice can penetrate the inside of the cheese.
The story of the Kastélyosdombói Cheese Workshop is an exceptional meeting of centuries-old tradition, 21st century technology and real social commitment. The farm of the former Erdődy castle in the 300-strong village of Somogy county was brought to life by the Ecumenical Aid Organization in 2013: it announced a unique program for families who had lost their homes, who could start a new, independent life by learning and working in the castle's reviving economy. The Kastélyosdombói Cheese Workshop is a small but state-of-the-art facility where there is no mass production: they produce small quantities of premium quality artisan dairy products.
