The parent company of Bunge Zrt. is Bunge Limited. The predecessor of Bunge Zrt., Cereol Rt., was established in 1992 by purchasing the business line of the state-owned Vegetable Oil and Detergent Manufacturing Company dealing with seed processing, edible oil refining and bottling.

The centre of its processing activity is the Martfű Vegetable Oil Factory, which produces crude vegetable oils and oilseed meals for animal feed from the processing of domestic sunflower and rapeseed, as well as the refined edible oils of the Vénusz and Floriol brands, which are well-known both at home and abroad. One of the most important goals of Bunge Zrt. is to fully satisfy the needs of domestic and regional consumers and to follow their continuous changes.
