Producer information
The Takler family has been engaged in viticulture and winemaking since the 1700s in the Szekszárd wine region, which has a history of over two thousand years. Similar to other winemaking families in the region, they also came to Szekszárd thanks to the resettlement of Maria Theresa. After the vicissitudes of the centuries, they have been continuously building and developing their current family business since 1987 to this day. Their winery is managed by three people (Ferenc Takler and his two sons, Ferenc Jr. and András). They make use of the excellent topography and soil conditions, as well as the warm, sub-Mediterranean climate to produce their red wines. They currently farm on 70 hectares. In addition to the wines of international varieties, such as Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon, their winery's range also places great emphasis on local red wines, the Kadarka, which is still considered a speciality, the increasingly popular Kékfrankos, and the Szekszárd Bikavér made by blending the aforementioned varieties.
In addition to red wines, they also produce fresh rosé and southern-style white wines. In line with their winemaking philosophy, they produce dark, full-bodied wines rich in ripe tannins, yet velvety soft, with a unique flavour profile characterised by the spiciness and richness typical of the region's wines. Their red wines are aged in 1.5-2 year old acacia barrels or new oak barrels before being bottled, where they have the potential to age for many years, depending on the variety.
Storage
Store at 10-15 degrees, in a dark, sealed place, consume within 1-2 days after opening.
