Curd is a white, lumpy, sour-tasting dairy product, which is produced by the precipitation of milk protein (casein). Its basic material is cow's milk, to which butter culture is added, which causes it to curdle, then the curd is cut, heated, and the whey is drained. Curd contains a large amount of protein and minerals, and is also easily digestible, therefore it is a valuable food from a nutritional and physiological point of view.
