A traditional ingredient in Indian cuisine: ghee - clarified butter - is easy to heat and suitable for frying, baking and cooking. Alnatura ghee is made from organic butter, using the Ayurvedic scalding process. It is lactose-free and gives all kinds of dishes a fine, aromatic buttery flavour.

Use - Coconut energy balls with couscous

Preparation time: preparation 15 minutes + cooking 30 minutes + cooling 3 hours

Ingredients for 22 pieces

• 100 g wholemeal spelt couscous
• 200 ml hot water
• 80 g dried apricots
• 25 g ghee
• 25 g pure coconut oil
• 50 g oatmeal
• 60 g desiccated coconut
• 50 ml maple syrup

Preparation

1. Put the couscous in a bowl, pour the hot water over it and leave it covered for 10 minutes to swell.
2. Finely chop the apricots. Melt the ghee and coconut oil in a pan over a low heat. Add the apricots, the heated fat, the oatmeal, the desiccated coconut and the maple syrup to the swollen couscous, mix thoroughly and leave in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
3. Take the mixture out of the refrigerator, cut walnut-sized pieces from the dough and shape them into balls by hand. Sprinkle the remaining desiccated coconut on the balls and leave them in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours to set before eating.
