The foundation of VOG dates back to 1916, when, as a result of the sugar supply crisis during the First World War, 21 Upper Austrian food wholesalers founded a purchasing association: the Linz-based Association of Upper Austrian Sugar Wholesalers. With the successful overcoming of the supply shortages, VOG had fulfilled its original mission, and the company, which had proven its raison d'être in the meantime, decided to create additional fields of activity. In 1929, a spice mill was acquired with all the necessary equipment for packaging. The import of classic colonial goods - coupled with the exclusive sales rights - made interesting business expansion possible in Upper Austria.

The successful development of the VOG Group is rooted in the continuous adaptation to the demands of trade and consumers. "Trade - in change"; their motto is not an empty phrase, but the reality of everyday life.

The VOG Group has always strived to use economic and social changes to build up its market position.
