Selected Hungarian Wineries' Special Wines

The weather has turned autumnal, and with it, the much-anticipated harvest has begun - and what else comes to mind but a glass of fresh, pleasant wine. If you can see the sun-drenched wine drops on the gracefully curved wall of a glass, then you know what we mean. At Kifli.hu, it is important for us to provide products of outstanding quality in every aspect, and wines are no exception! Our selection includes the finest wines from selected domestic manufactories. Allow us to take you on an imaginary journey into the world of fruity aromas, rich flavors, and good wine!

The history of the winery dates back to 2014, when it started with just a few hectares and varietal wines. The young winemaker Barabás Barna moved to Balatonfüred with his wife, and their goal became to create an organic system where viticulture is not the sole component. Since 2018, their vineyards have been gradually transitioning to certified organic cultivation. In addition to using natural agents, they place great emphasis on proper nutrient supply and soil cultivation. In their wines, they use wild yeasts instead of cultured yeasts, thus helping the area and the grape varieties to assert themselves. The winery has two vineyards in Balatonfüred and one in Balatonszőlős. On the 10-hectare plantation, they typically cultivate Italian Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon, Rozália, Merlot, Syrah, Blaufränkisch, and Furmint varieties. The uniqueness of the wines produced here also lies in the quality of the soil, as in addition to the limestone soil, fossils from the former Tethys Ocean are often found.

Pelle Pince has been operating in Mád, Tokaj-Hegyalja since 2007. Their wines are made exclusively from grapes grown on their own land. Currently, they harvest from 5 hectares, from the Szent Tamás, Betsek, Király, Újhegy, Sarkad, Dancka vineyards, with parcels that are exceptionally situated, with volcanic subsoil in some places. The owners strive to participate fully in the life of the estate so that the wines reflect their taste and thoughts. They cultivate their areas with a high degree of manual labor, using nature-friendly pesticides, in an organic manner.

With reasonable yield limitation, the clusters at the right maturity are hand-harvested, and after processing, our wines are made naturally, with the least possible intervention. The defining characteristic of their wines made from the furmint, hárslevelű, and sárgamuskotály grapes grown in the vineyards is the minerality, which is imparted to the wines by the volcanic rhyolite and rhyolite tuff subsoil. Since the beginning, in 2007, winemaker Dénes Dávid Szarka has been making the wines, following the journey of the grapes from cultivation to bottling.
