Bet you get these wrong too!
Your routine actions may not always be correct, and there are certainly things you've never thought about, but should. Kifli.hu has gathered some expert advice on oral care, hair care, and female hygiene, so we can help you not only with shopping for the necessary ingredients but also afterwards. Take advantage of the spring renewal and be confident!
Oral Care
When brushing your teeth, thoroughly clean each of the four quadrants of your teeth – that is, upper left, upper right, lower left, and lower right – for 45 seconds each, but the entire process should last at least 2 minutes. Meanwhile, place the toothbrush half on the gum and half on the tooth, with the bristles facing the gum, and the toothbrush head forming a 45-degree angle with the tooth surface. Never press the toothbrush hard, and replace it every 3 months due to the bacteria on it.
Don't forget to floss afterwards: wrap it around your fingers so that 5-6 cm is stretched out. First, place it on the surface of the side teeth and use horizontal movements to remove the plaque and food residues stuck there. Then don't forget the areas below the gum line either, preventing tartar formation and gingivitis; in this case, you need to perform the cleaning motion almost vertically. Wrap up the used part and always clean the next area with fresh floss, otherwise, you're just moving the plaque around. And the rule applies here too: never press too hard, as it can cause gum bleeding.
Hair Care
Rinse your hair with pleasantly warm water before washing. The shampoo should be diluted with water before applying it to your scalp, then gently massage the hair follicles with your fingertips in circular motions until the detergent foams. Next comes the conditioner, which helps with detangling; do not apply it to the scalp, only to the ends of the hair. Try finishing the ritual with a (not too) cold water rinse, as the low temperature contracts the scalp, making your hair shiny.
After washing your hair, strong rubbing and twisting are not recommended, as the detergent causes the scales surrounding the hair shaft to remain open, making them more susceptible to damage and breakage when softened by water, so gently squeeze the water out instead.
It's advisable to dry the scalp, as slow evaporation can cause the waterlogged, vulnerable epidermis to catch a cold, leading to peeling. This also provides a good environment for fungi. However, do not dry with hot air, and frequently wash your comb with shampoo. Hairdressers recommend massaging the scalp daily, even when dry, to stimulate proper blood circulation, nutrient supply to the hair follicles, and normal functioning of the sebaceous glands.
Female Hygiene
It's worth engraving the rule of wiping from front to back in stone, otherwise, you may direct unwanted bacteria to sensitive areas.
After shaving, don't forget about skincare, as the stripped epidermis can cause many complaints. Constantly worn, scented intimate pads are not good for the lower body, nor is everyday tight, synthetic underwear.
Most menstrual products should be changed at least every 4 hours, but if you're in a heavier period, even more frequently.
Vaginal discharge is normal: you only need to see a gynecologist if its smell, texture, or color suddenly changes.
Daily vaginal douching is unnecessary: it not only removes accumulated bacteria and fungi from the vagina but also the Lactobacilli that make up the normal flora of the vagina, creating a vicious cycle. Choose the right product to restore internal pH balance: over-the-counter tests are available that show whether bacterial or fungal inflammation is causing the complaint. But regular exercise, a reduced sugar and carbohydrate diet, sufficient water intake, and a balanced relationship all contribute to a healthy vaginal flora.
