Safety in the kitchen - Pay attention to these things when preparing food!
As parents of young children, we know: our little ones are exposed to a thousand dangers day by day. Moreover, the immune and digestive systems of the little ones are far from being as developed as those of adults, so even more dangers lurk for them - even in the kitchen.
We can categorize these dangers into three major groups:
Biological hazards: such as viruses, bacteria, or fungal contamination in food.
Chemical hazards: such as cleaning agents or natural toxins on ingredients.
Physical hazards: glass or wood fragments, for example, getting into food.

The good news is that many hazards can be avoided with a little attention!
I have now gathered the most basic rules that you should definitely follow when preparing food for the family in the kitchen:
- Wash your hands thoroughly before preparing any food!
- Always wear an apron in the kitchen if you are in clothes that have been outside!
- Before cooking, remove jewelry and watches, tie up long hair, and avoid touching your mobile phone while working in the kitchen (or wash your hands thoroughly again afterwards)!
- Before you start preparing ingredients, make sure the kitchen counter and your tools are clean!
- Disinfect the sink, faucet, and tools you intend to use every time you handle meat or eggs - both before and after!
- Disinfect cloths and sponges at least at the end of the day, and preferably replace them weekly!
- Replace dry kitchen towels with clean ones after 2 days of use!
- Wash ingredients thoroughly before use, even those whose skins we do not consume! (For example: avocado, melon)

- To avoid cross-contamination, store and prepare meats, vegetables, and fruits separately!
- Wash your hands thoroughly before and after working with meat and eggs!
- If you see hairline cracks on the eggs, do not use them!
- Store raw and cooked foods separately!
- Use the ingredients immediately after preparation, or refrigerate them as soon as possible!
- Cook/bake everything thoroughly: the meat should be well-cooked, and the eggs should not remain runny or slimy.
- If you have a dishwasher, use it regularly, as it can wash at a high temperature that effectively disinfects the utensils!
- Keep pets away from the kitchen!
