Doritos Nacho Sajtos 

Legend has it that nachos were invented in a restaurant near the Mexican-American border, where hungry customers couldn't get dinner because the kitchen was closed. The headwaiter solved the awkward situation by cutting corn tortillas into triangles, frying them until crispy, and serving them with grated cheddar cheese and sliced jalapenos.

The original form of nachos is served as an appetizer on the menus of Mexican restaurants (supplemented with some kind of sauce – salsa, avocado, guacamole), but nowadays it is most popular as a snack, supplemented with some kind of dip, or in modern cuisine, crushed into small pieces and used to coat vegetables and meats.

Producer information

In the early 1960s, Arch West, an employee of Frito-Lay, noticed the popularity of tortilla chips sold by the Casa de Fritos restaurant in Disneyland, and convinced his company to produce them. Marketing began in California in 1964, and the Doritos brand name appeared on the North American market in 1966.

In 1967, management decided to introduce one of the brand's signature flavors, Doritos nacho cheese.

Doritos were marketed in the French market in 1994 under the BN brand name, which also belongs to PepsiCo, and then in the Belgian market in 1996.
