A cut tulip is a freshly cut tulip flower, most often used in bouquets, floral arrangements, or for decoration.
Its long, green stem is flexible, and its leaves are lance-shaped. Its flower can be simple or double, its petals are smooth, brightly coloured: red, yellow, white, pink, purple, or it can also occur in multi-coloured varieties. A special feature of the cut tulip is that it continues to grow after being cut and bends towards the light.
It stays fresh for a long time in a cool environment, especially if placed in clean water and its stem is regularly trimmed. Due to its elegant, clean appearance, it is one of the most popular spring cut flowers.
