Anemone  St.  Brigid flower bulb 

Double-flowered horticultural varieties. Their deeply lobed, compound leaves form a dense, delicate-looking foliage. The flowers rise above the foliage, opening above equally deeply lobed collar-like leaves. They are semi-double or double-flowered, with dark stamens clustered in the center, surrounded by several rows of tepals. Usually, color mixes of several different colored varieties are sold. Plant them in a sunny or partially shaded spot, in nutrient-rich soil. Soak their rhizomes in water for 12 hours before planting. This facilitates root development and makes it easier to find the flat bottom and the top side with shoot buds on the swollen rhizome.

Usage

The overwintering part of the plant can be left outdoors in winter; it is not necessary to dig up the bulbs, tubers, etc. in autumn. If the overwintered plant stock has become too dense, their division, rejuvenation, and replanting can be done in the summer months. Dig up the plants when their foliage dries out or immediately thereafter. After separation and sorting, allow any wounds on the bulbs/tubers intended for replanting to dry out in a well-ventilated, cool place. Afterwards, in late summer or early autumn, plant them so they can face winter well-rooted.
