Red California peppers, juicy

The flesh of the Californian pepper is thick, juicy, crispy and tasty, with a sweet, fruity flavour. It is native to America and has been cultivated since ancient times. It was brought to Asia and Europe by Spanish and Portuguese explorers around 1493, and since then new varieties and evergreen varieties have been cultivated worldwide.

Interesting facts

Excellent source of vitamin C and vitamin A, also contains vitamins E, K and B6, potassium, manganese, fibre, folic acid and thiamine. It also contains lycopene, which helps protect the body and fight free radicals.

Usage

It is delicious fried, grilled and steamed. It is also ideal for making salads, sauces and sandwiches. It goes well with basil, coriander, parsley, rosemary, arugula, garlic, onion, pesto, tahini, salsa, guacamole, cheeses, meats.

Storage

Store in a dry, cool place, between 5-10°C.
