Tea brewed from basil is suitable for bloating, as an appetite stimulant, and for soothing coughs. It is an important spice in Italian cuisine, used to flavor soups, pizzas, salads, and egg dishes. It originates from the Mediterranean region, a bushy Mediterranean herb that we plant in herb gardens as an annual herb here. Its flowers bloom from June until the end, but the plant's leaves and shoots can be collected from April until the end of September.

Care
Since it is a Mediterranean herb, it is important to place it in a sunny spot. It is recommended to plant it in a large pot, as it will not develop without nutrients. After planting, the soil should be watered regularly, but stagnant water should not be left, and the soil should not dry out. Do not let water get on the leaves, as the sun can burn them. It is worth harvesting the leaves every two weeks in spring and even weekly in summer, and it is recommended to store unused leaves in the freezer.
The purchased plant must always be repotted to ensure its long-term survival indoors. We recommend repotting them into a larger pot or container so that they feel comfortable in a heated apartment and do not wilt. It is important not to forget to spray them (with water)!
