Alnatura Organic Ground Ceylon Cinnamon
This cinnamon is obtained from the Ceylon cinnamon tree, which is why it is a particularly fine, aromatic-sweet variety. Alnatura ground Ceylon cinnamon comes from organic farming and refines sweet pastries and desserts, apple strudel or rice pudding, and gives oriental dishes a spicy-sweet note.
Product information
- Organic quality
- 100 percent Ceylon cinnamon
- Particularly fine, aromatic-sweet cinnamon flavor
- For sweet pastries and desserts, compote, rice pudding and sweet pancakes
Use - Apple-cinnamon snails
Preparation time
20 minutes + 30 minutes resting time + 30 minutes baking time
Ingredients
For 12 pieces
- 250 ml Alnatura Organic vanilla rice drink + 1 tablespoon for greasing
- 500 g Alnatura Organic spelt flour (type 630) + 2 tablespoons for rolling out
- 1 packet Alnatura Organic dry yeast
- 150 g Alnatura Organic granulated beet sugar
- 140 g Alnatura Organic margarine (soft)
- 2 tart apples
- 2 teaspoons Alnatura Organic ground Ceylon cinnamon
Preparation
- Prepare the yeast dough and let it rest. Heat the rice drink until lukewarm and put it in a mixing bowl. Add the flour, yeast, 50 g sugar and 100 g margarine and knead by hand or with the dough hook of the hand mixer for 10 minutes until you get a smooth dough. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
- Prepare the apple filling. Wash the apples, remove the core and cut into small cubes. Put in a small saucepan with 30 g sugar. Steam for 5 minutes, then let cool briefly.
- Roll out and fill the dough. Sprinkle the work surface with a little flour. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin into a 40 x 60 cm rectangle. Spread with 40 g margarine, mix 70 g sugar with the cinnamon and sprinkle evenly over the margarine. Pour the apple filling onto the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Form snails. Roll up the dough base tightly from the bottom, long end and cut into 12 pieces about 5 cm wide with a sharp knife. Place the snails in a greased or baking paper-lined baking tray or a fireproof dish. Brush the whole thing with rice drink.
- Bake the snails. Set the top and bottom oven to 180°C and place the snails in the still cold oven. This allows them to rise a little better during baking. Bake until golden brown for 30 minutes.
Tip
You can make a sugar glaze for the snails to serve. For the sugar glaze, mix powdered sugar with a little lemon juice and pour over the snails.
