Varga Csabagyöngye white regional wine

For winemakers, tasting freshly fermented new wines is always a special event, and they are now trying to share this experience with you. Csabagyöngye is a so-called zero-aging wine, as it is bottled within a few days of fermentation. This is how they try to capture the moment after the wine's birth, preserving the original grape flavors and aromas. The pale green, grape blossom-scented, slightly muscat-flavored primeur wine's fruity character is further enhanced by the residual carbon dioxide from fermentation. Csabagyöngye is Europe's earliest ripening grape, thus giving Hungarians the opportunity to create the "First Wine of the Year". It is bottled in the first decade of September, so customers can taste it even before the real harvest begins. 

Producer Information

Varga Péter started working at the Badacsonyörs winery on January fourth, 1993, with his wife and parents. Today, he works with his two sons and hopes that they, and later his grandchildren, will continue to run the winery. Over the past 20 years, Hungarian winemaking has fundamentally renewed itself professionally and technologically, and the quality of wines has reached Western European standards. In parallel, consumer demand has also evolved and changed significantly. Today, people are less likely to simply drink wines and more likely to taste them; they seek out what is interesting and special. They no longer only drink wines from nearby wine regions but also have the opportunity to explore the wine offerings of the country, Europe, and even the entire world. Therefore, it is not enough to simply make beautiful, balanced wines; there is a need for wines that leave an impression on the consumer, that they remember and will choose again from the thousands of options available.
